A space for reflection, healing, and becoming whole.
This is a sanctuary for memory, meaning, and emotional truth.
Here, stories are witnessed.
Through reflection and honest storytelling, you’ll step into narratives that name what you’ve felt, honor what you’ve lived, and lead you back to yourself.

Who I Am
I’m Jamilla — a writer, a therapist, and a woman who has lived the kind of stories I now write about.
I know firsthand that healing rarely happens in straight lines. It unfolds in memories, in realizations, in grief, in faith, in courage, and in the quiet decision to keep becoming.
My work lives at the intersection of remembrance and growth — the stories we inherit, the ones we survive, the ones we must grieve, and the ones we choose to rewrite.
What you’ll find here isn’t perfection.
It’s honesty.
It’s the slow, sacred work of returning to yourself.
It’s language for the feelings you haven’t always known how to name.
Through my Living Pages, I share reflections drawn not only from my work as a therapist, but from my own lived experience — the heartbreaks, the reckonings, the healing, the faith, and the becoming. These aren’t blog posts. They are companions for people learning to understand themselves more gently and love more honestly.
If my words feel like someone walking beside you — helping you make sense of your past, honor your present, and step more fully into who you’re becoming — then I’ve done what I came here to do.
You don’t have to figure yourself out alone.
I’ll meet you there — between you and you.

Excerpts
Between You and You
Some wounds aren’t loud. Some are carried in silence, disguised as strength, and passed down as normal.
Between You and You names what many of us never learned how to say — grief, abandonment, longing, and love that reshapes us.
This book is for anyone learning how to come home to themselves — after grief, abandonment, longing, and love have reshaped them.
